As caregivers ourselves, we know that planning for the upcoming school year is a task that starts earlier and earlier each year. That’s why we wanted to let you know as soon as we possibly could that the PS 20 Mosaic After-school program will be up and running for the start of the 2018-2019 school year.

Here is an example of what your child’s Mosaic afternoon will look like:

3:30-5 PM        Enrichment classes (like chess, hip-hop, Zumba, sign language, cooking, and More!)

5-6 PM            Free play until pick-up

Please click here to leave us your email address. We’ll be sure to stay in touch with the latest information and updates about our exciting new program, including pricing, enrichment class descriptions, and enrollment.

Happy summering!

The Mosaic Afterschool committee

The PS 20 PTA is excited to announce the launch of a new enrichment-based afterschool program. The approach of this program is to expand on cluster programming in an afterschool environment, make connections to classroom learning, and expose students to diverse STEAM opportunities...while having fun and keeping kids engaged!

Both PS 20 students and students from the surrounding community will be eligible to join the program, and the program cost will be tiered to allow families with a variety of resources to participate.

We look forward to updating this website as additional details are available and plan to have a confirmed schedule in August before the beginning of the school year.

The PTA will reach out to all PS 20 families when we are ready to begin accepting registration applications in September.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to volunteer to assist with launching the program, please email

We are currently hiring! Please see the Program Assistant job description and the Program Director job description and instructions for applying.

After-school piano classes, taught by the Piano School of New York's highly trained teachers, will focus on introducing piano performance, music theory, piano technique, and music history during small group classes. The goal is to create a fun, participatory environment for children to gain an appreciation for music and the piano, while fostering creativity and self confidence. At the end of every school year the children will also have the opportunity to perform in a recital, as we come together to celebrate and share what we've learned.  We'll conduct the K-5 group on Wednesdays starting at 2:50 and that class will last 30-45 minutes depending on class size.
