The mission of the PS20 Talent Show is to give an opportunity for students to experience the magic of developing and performing their own work live.

Looking for help in stage management, vendors, reception, set design, video, program / poster design, ushers, etc.

Support the PS 20 Talent Show by Placing a Shout-Out in the Playbill

Our students are ready to shine on stage, and you can help make the Talent Show even more memorable! This year, we’re offering “Shout-Outs” in the playbill for parents to honor your student, recognize their achievements, or share a special message of encouragement. Parents: Pay via cash 💰 or with volunteer hours 🕒 . Limited space available—reserve your spot early!

Deadline: Sunday, May 3

Options

  • 1 Sentence: $10

  • ¼ Page: $25 -or- 1 hour of volunteering at the Talent Show

  • ½ Page: $50 -or- 2 hours of volunteering

  • Full Page: $95 -or- 3+ hours of volunteering

  • Local Businesses are also welcome to buy an ad for $75 / $150 / $300!

How to Submit Your Shout-Out

  1. Select your listing and payment type via GiveLively

  2. Submit your Shout-Out assets: Families | Business Sponsors

Volunteer Opportunities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Audio/tech support (lighting directors!!)

  • Photography

  • Set design

  • Merchandise sales

  • Popcorn/refreshment sales

  • Ushering

  • Talent handling/backstage assistance

    • Audition submission deadline: Tuesday, April 7

    • Create your act thoughtfully

    • Rehearse independently

    • Ask questions in dance class, in music with Mr. Hampton, or Konstella DM or email Mr. Chung at dchung4@schools.nyc.gov

    1. Grades 1-5 Only

    2. ENSEMBLE (group) acts preferred

    3. ORIGINAL & UNIQUE acts preferred: your own lyrics, choreography, idea, rather than performing someone else’s music/choreography

      Harder to get in: Singers and dancers, especially hiphop and pop.
      Easier to get in: Clowns, puppeteers, gymnasts, martial artists, comedians, etc

    4. TIME LIMIT: Should be no more than 2:59 max (2 minutes, 59 seconds).

    5. INCLUSION: We aspire to give everyone a chance to perform at least once in their PS20 years.

  • All auditioners will be notified of their status on Monday, April 13. Rehearsal schedule and performance details will be given then.
