The mission of the PS20 Talent Show is to give an opportunity for students to experience the magic of developing and performing their own work live.

9:00am (school) + 5:00PM (family) Shows
PS20 Auditorium

9:00 AM + 10:10 AM | Open Dress rehearsal for school audience (in two sessions)
5:00 PM | Full performance for families

seeking parent volunteers!

Looking for help in set design, video, program / poster design, stage crew, stage managers, house managers, ushers, etc. Check for sign-up sheet on Konstella or contact Mr Chung.

    • Audition submission : Friday, April 7 (deadline extended!)

    • Create your act thoughtfully

    • Rehearse independently

    • Ask questions in dance class, music with Mr. Hampton, or email Mr. Chung at dchung4@schools.nyc.gov

    1. Grades K-5 Only

    2. ENSEMBLE (group) acts preferred

    3. ORIGINAL acts preferred: your own lyrics, choreography, idea, rather than performing someone else’s music/choreography

    4. UNIQUE genres preferred
      Harder to get in: Singers and dancers, especially hiphop and pop.
      Easier to get in: Musicians, magicians, comedians, gymnasts, martial artists, yoyoists, puppeteers, skits

    5. “EXPERTS”: Performers should be prepared to demonstrate knowledge of their act: Who is the original performer? Who is the songwriter? Who were their influences? What else do you know about the genre?

      PRO TIP: If you’re singing a cover, consider a “karaoke” recording without vocals, so we can hear your voice, and not the original singer’s voice.

    6. TIME LIMIT: Should be no more than 2:59 duration (2 minutes, 59 seconds). Choose a musical selection that fits within the time limit, perform a part of the song, or rearrange your act to fit.

    • All auditioners will be notified of their status by Friday, April 11, 2025

    • Rehearse on your own during Spring Break (April 14-18)

    • Detailed rehearsal info will be distributed Monday, April 21, 2025
