One of the biggest events of the year! Live DJ, dancing, food and drink, a photo booth, performances and auction previews. Kids and grown-ups both - it’s the whole school in one room.
How you can help right now
The Ball is months away, but the auction is built now. Every item has to be found, asked for and collected before the spring - and that part is done entirely by parents.
Takes 5 minutes
You don’t need to own a business. Past families have put up a home-cooked dinner, a weekend at their cabin, a portrait sitting, a guitar lesson, a day of dog-walking. If you have a skill or a space, it belongs in the auction.
Takes 10 minutes
Your gym, your barber, the place you get coffee every morning. A warm ask from a regular works far better than a cold email from the PTA. We’ll give you the letter - you just send it.
Takes a few hours a month
Join the planning committee
Sourcing, cataloguing, decor, the night itself. There is a job here whatever your hours look like, and the people who have done it will tell you it’s the most fun the PTA has all year.

We’ll send a written acknowledgement for every donation. We can’t value your gift for you - the IRS asks the donor to do that.
Where the money goes
The Love Ball is the PTA’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Last year it raised $20,716 - money that goes straight back into the school, for all 600+ students:

Both. There’s a dance floor, a photo booth and performances by our own students, and there are drinks and a silent auction for the grown-ups. Families come together.

Yes. No PS 20 family is kept out of a PTA event over money, ever. Email the fundraising team and it will be handled quietly.

Experiences do best: lessons, tickets, tastings, a stay somewhere, a session with you doing whatever you’re good at. Also welcome: apparel, jewellery, artwork, dining and entertainment, gift certificates and professional services. If you’re not sure, ask us.

Tell us on the form and we’ll arrange it: drop-off at the Main Office, collection from you, or a digital certificate emailed over. Nothing needs to arrive before you hear from us.

Yes - cash sponsorship or in‑kind help like catering, printing, sound or decor. Email the fundraising team and we’ll talk it through.
