We're a free, zoned public elementary school in Clinton Hill — 3K through 5th grade, and an authorized IB World School. This page walks you through the whole thing in the order it actually happens.

Outside the zone? Apply anyway. Zoned families get first priority, but we admit children from across District 13 and beyond every year, and siblings and current students have their own priority.
Which year are you applying for?
In New York City you apply in the calendar year your child turns that age - not the school year.

The same four steps for every grade. PS 20 doesn't run any of them, the DOE does.
Apply through MySchools. One application, list schools in your true order of preference. Online, by phone at 718-935-2009, or in person at the District 13 Family Welcome Center.
NYC Public Schools makes the offers, not us, using a set priority order: zoned children with a sibling here first, then all other zoned children, then District 13, and so on.
Accept your offer in MySchools when it arrives.
Register with us. Bring proof of age, immunization records and two proofs of address to the main office.
How the application actually works
Diversity in Admissions. PS 20 sets aside up to 40% of seats for children from low-income families or in temporary housing. If that's your family, say so on the application - it helps you.
